Neurogenetics Clinic

A multidiciplinary clinic held weekly. In our lab we are exploring voice parameters in patients with neurogenetic conditions. Read more about the project here

Platelet-Rich Plasma

We are currently evaluating the efficacy of intra-cordal Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections for treating glottal insufficiency and inflammation, as well as its effects on acousitc an aerodynamic voice parameters. Vaping and Voice in Aotearoa

This study is exploring associations between vape use, self-reported voice quality, and indicators of vocal health status. The project seeks to contribute new knowledge surrounding the effects of vape aerosol on the upper airway, and in particular voice quality and function.

Participation Inclusion Criteria

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Currently use any vape product

Abdominal Muscle Activity in Singers

This project uses surface electromyography and aerodynamic voice measures to explore associations between lung volume, phonatory context, and abdominal muscle activity. The projects seeks to contribute findings to building evidence-based pedagogical strategies as well as speech-language therapy techniques for improving breath management.
